wellness tonic

I'm not much of a routine person (although I love knowing other peoples morning routines!) but one thing I try to stick to first thing every morning is downing a huge glass of warm water with fresh squeezed lemon. There's countless benefits to drinking it, and it just feels nice to do something healthy for myself as soon as I wake up. Lately I've been adding a few 'extras' to my morning drink to kick it up a bit. Knock on wood, but I haven't been sick once this winter and I'm going to attribute it in part to this!

-Fill a 24 oz bell jar with warm water

-Squeeze in half of a fresh organic lemon

-Add a few slices of fresh organic ginger

-Stir in 1 spoonful of really good, locally produced honey

-Add a dash of organic cayenne pepper, turmeric, and cinnamon

-Add a splash of apple cider vinegar (I use Braggs kind)

Stir together really really really well and adjust to your taste. Sip and enjoy!
